Senior Contracts Manager – Contracting Division – Civil Engineering and Groundworks

Come and join our family business at WH Bond & Sons Ltd! Due to our current and projected workload, we are looking for a Senior Contracts Manager to join our contracting team, based at our office in Trerulefoot, Saltash, Cornwall.

In this role, you will oversee live projects, work closely with our Commercial and Health & Safety teams, and support both pre- and post-contract processes. This is a varied position involving a combination of office-based work, site visits, and collaboration with clients and colleagues. Our work includes civil engineering and groundworks projects across Cornwall, Devon and occasionally Somerset, ranging from small works to multi-million-pound schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare tender programmes and assist with pre-contract document production
• Plan and manage projects through to completion, including programme management, resourcing, progress meetings, design review and procurement
• Support the daily operational requirements of the Contracting Division, coordinating with senior management, site teams, commercial and health & safety colleagues
• Ensure projects are delivered to high quality and safety standards, on time and within budget
• Coordinate effectively with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
• Carry out site visits and attend meetings as required

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

We welcome applications from candidates with relevant experience and capability. The following would be beneficial:

• A construction-related or management qualification (or equivalent experience)
• Knowledge of civil engineering and groundworks
• Experience leading projects from an operational perspective
